I love seeing them wherever I go - This is a great collection of them, and a most interesting image you've created!!!
Chantal Huijbregts: I always make one myself, you too?
I like these good luck stones Chantal... the Inuit people in Northern Canada made piles of rock slabs and stone built to resemble the shape of a person with arms stretching out called Inuit Inukshuk to mark trails....petersmile
Chantal Huijbregts: thanks for the Canadian history lesson smile

I think of them more as making my mark on where I've been, Chantal. A nice memento, in other words, to leave behind.
Chantal Huijbregts: yes, that is also true Ginnie
I like this one, and the good luck story.
Chantal Huijbregts: glad you do
Lovely image! (:o)
Chantal Huijbregts: thanks Rosalyn
I've not come across this idea before, what a nice idea.
Chantal Huijbregts: it is spread all over the world and found too
You've got that textured finish going on, Chantal. ;-) Nice!
Chantal Huijbregts: thanks Jimi
That's a special for these lucky piles.
I think it's called "cairn".

I saw a lot of them in the Scottish Highlands.
Chantal Huijbregts: They are all over the world, mainly on beaches and in mountains
Did not know this good luck tradition! I'll build one pile soonest possible.
Chantal Huijbregts: well, hope you get some...
The treatment goes well with the subject Chantal.
Chantal Huijbregts: Thanks Fred, glad you like it.

nicely framed shot! and a great find too.. smile
Chantal Huijbregts: thanks a lot Rian
Mmm - not quite sure what building a pile of stones has to do with luck, Chantal - but, then, they do say you make your own luck, so perhaps the stones help!
Chantal Huijbregts: it is tradition, not needing a special reason
i find this concept of goodluck piles somewhat new. great image. fantastic treatment too!
Chantal Huijbregts: well, feel free to built one.
